Catherine O'Donovan has taught English at the European Schools for over five years. She hails from Ireland where she taught English for many years. She has also edited and written three Shakespeare titles for secondary school students in collaboration with the Educate.ie publishing company in Ireland. She also runs the English creative writing club at the school for senior students.
A.D. Capili holds an MA in literature and a PhD in philosophy and is currently working on a master's in history at the University of Edinburgh; he has published various academic articles and reviews; his poems have appeared in Big City Lit, The New Croton Review, Tint Journal, Paris Lit Up, Amaranth, Little Fish, Pena, etc.; his fiction and non-fiction pieces have appeared/are forthcoming in The Brussels Review, Between the Lines, The Lupa Newsletter, and The Quiet Reader.
David Simunovic is an English teacher at the European School of Brussels IV. As a speaker of German, Croatian, French, and English, he thrives in a cosmopolitan environment and has long been intrigued by how language can shape perspectives. He is currently honing his writing skills with a focus on short stories.
Anastasia Balasi is a trained philologist and holds master's degrees in philosophy and bioethics. She is a history, ethics, and language teacher based in Flanders, Belgium. She co-authored Philo Lite for Life (which she also translated into Greek; forthcoming in 2026), Short Introduction to Philosophy (also forthcoming in 2026), and the poetry collection It Bites and Other Poems with A.D. Capili.
